I originally bought these for myself since it's hard to find warm socks in large sizes for women. I ended up giving them to my husband because the leg portion of the sock was too tight for me. He's been wearing them for a few weeks now and really likes them except for the leg portion which he finds a bit tight also. Neither one of us have big ankles. Wish they would make them a little less tight - then they would be perfect! This was my first purchase of Darn Tough socks and hope they last longer than others. Quality seems very good.

I think these are really great socks. I never gave much thought to socks...until I found these. Been replacing my Smart Wool's with these.Treat yer feet! C'mon...give em a try! Made in Vermont....USA! Gitcha some!

My son is an avid outdoorsman who went to college in Vermont. He gave my wife and I some Darn Tough socks for Christmas and we really liked them. They were very comfortable and seemed sturdy. We also liked that they were made in the US. I have been wearing SmartWool socks to work. I find them quite comfortable, but am disappointed with their longevity. I am hard on socks, and the SmartWools all started showing breakdown of the elastic component around my heels after about a year. It doesn't affect the performance, but looks shabby. I tried the Darn Tough crew socks to see if they would be as comfortable and last longer than SW. I can safely say that they are at least as comfortable as SW, probably more comfortable. They feel a bit more substantial. I am hoping this translates into a longer wear. They are a little more expensive that SW, but if they last longer I believe it will be money well spent. Darn Tough socks are also harder to find online. I'm glad I found Shoebuy. The shopping experience was easy and painless. Keep carrying Darn Tough socks please!
