I was desperate to get a wool hat that wasn't completely common. I also wanted something that I could pack away in my bag when I wasn't using it. I live in Denver where it is often sunny and cold at the same time- so a nice brim is important. After a month of obsessing on the internet, I found the Mau hat, which I have really come to like. (I?m getting a cotton one for summer.)The Mau hat is cool because it is unique. By having a billowing look it differs from the more common army hat. Practically speaking, I like the extra material around your head, which allows you to wear it high or low. The quality, however, is less than I had expected for the price, and I assume that this is in large part because of the Kangol brand. If someone else came out with that style at a cheaper price, I would change teams in an instant. For now, no one but Kangol has and I'm a sucker for that style.
