    Reviewer: Anonymous from Alabama
I love this coat. I live in southern Alabama and this year has been cold! This coat keeps you warm from the neck to your ankles. It is very light weight and does not make you look like a giant marshmallow. It is much warmer than the North Face down coat. I wear a Medium in sweaters, LLBean coats, and NF coats and this medium fits fantastic. I can wear heavy fleece and big sweaters underneath with no tightness. This is a great coat!! Shoebuy is a great place!

  • Sad about my purchase February 08, 2011

This jacket looks great on but is not as warm as predicted. I have purchased other coats for less than this one that keep me much warmer. Additionally, it already has feathers popping through and if you try to pull it out another one comes behind it.

  • Lightweight and warm January 26, 2011

This coat performs as expected. It is warm and light, which has been welcome in these frigid temps. I am 5'2" and the small is very long -- below calf length, maybe 2-3" above my ankle -- and the sleeves are a tad long too. However, I wanted a coat that kept my legs warm and have a hood so I kept it. I wonder if one of the shorter down coats like fiona or down with it may have been a better length. The coat is very thin -- not at all "puffy" but keeps me plenty warm.

Jacket is great! Warm and comfortable. I wasn't sure which size I'd need. I like my clothing somewhat loose, but I chose the small, it's a little tighter than the med, but looks much better.. I'm 5'5", 125 lbs.The only negative is the pockets are far too small. Longer and wider would help immensely.

  • Nice coat! January 04, 2011

Santa was nice to bring me this coat for Christmas! I love it--warm, not too bulky, etc. I like the length of the sleeves and bottom hem. Only thing I'm getting used to is zipping up such a long coat--sometimes the zipper gets stuck on the way. Overall I like it!

Very versatile, true to size. provides excellent warmth. useful as an everyday coat, or can double as a nice coat for evenings out in cold weather.

  • Never be cold again! December 30, 2010
Reviewer: Snug as a Bug from Boston, Massachusetts
This coat is a beautiful rich deep brown color. I have been out in some seriously freezing and blowy weather in it and was not at all cold. It's actually warmer than another coat I had that was a lot puffier. I'm 5'7" and 137 pounds, and the medium fits perfectly. I've worn it over a heavy blazer with no problem. It hits mid calf, and the sleeves are long so there's no gap between sleeves and gloves. The hood comes up around the back of my neck and keeps the draft out even when it's not pulled over my head. It stretches up and snugs over my hat nicely, with no cords to adjust. I've gotten quite a few compliments on it -- been told it looks elegant. I would buy this again!

  • Forget North Face..this is the one you want! December 30, 2010
    Reviewer: SK from New York
This Patagonia is very classy, has an ultra luxurious feel, and will keep you nice and toasty!! Perfect for those that live in NYC and have to trek through the cold and snowy conditions. You definitely won't see 20 other women wearing the same coat as you on the street and it's definitely higer quality than the North face!! This jacket has a nice slim fit and I would say it's pretty much true to size. I ordered an XS and I am 5'4' and 108 pounds (size 0 in street clothes).

    Reviewer: Tom from NYC
Forget north face, forget mountain hardwear, and forget marmot. If you're looking for a down parka to use in the northeast or great lake cities then this is it. It has 800 loft, a long slim cut, and soft but durable fabric. It'll be the best looking down parka that you're going to get, period. North face doesn't even come close. I bought this for my girlfriend to wear in NYC and it looks fabulous on her. It's very slim and tall look that is urban friendly. Patagonia also has one of the best warranties too.
