Product Description (Men's Patagonia Stand Up Shorts 5")
They've been around for 30-plus years, re-envisioned, reincarnated, tweaked over, tinkered with and constantly improved. Yet the more we change them, the more they stay the same. Stand-Up Shorts are made from rugged 10-oz 100% organic cotton to thwart climbing's abusive tendencies.
The hardworking canvas softens and personalizes with age. Doubled fabric in the seat increases durability and forms two rear pockets; a set-in pocket holds a wallet. Inseam (size 32) is 5". Garment-washed for softness and minimal shrinkage.
Recyclable through the Common Threads Recycling Program.

I'm an active young man 20 years old and love to wear t shirts /shorts. Many mens shorts have long lengths that reach to the knees. I prefer to bare my legs with shorter shorts with inseam length of 5" to expose more of my bare legs to the air for more ventilaton and the sun to give my legs a better tan. Therefore I purchased Mens Patagonia 5"shorts and really enjoy these shorts because I look better in them. The gals seem to like more of my bare legs exposed with these shorts. I like the heavy duty zipper button which does not come off easily. I wear these shorts playing hacky sack, mowing the lawn, hiking, doing chores in the yard, , ect. I love these shorts and almost live in them. I am a college student and it seems almost a tradition for young men to wear shorts to class either with t shirts shorts and flip flops with no socks or t shirts shorts and athletic sneakers with white tube socks even in cold weather with no jackets.I have continued that tradition by wearing shorts to class daily and alternating between wearing t shirts shorts and flip flops with no socks to class as well wearing t shirts shorts and athletic sneakers to class even in cold weather with no jacket. I ride a light motorcycle to class wearing a t shirt and shorts even it is foggy and cold with dense fog and very gloomy. My more exposed bare legs due to shorter shorts as well as my bare arms get chilled as well as my feet if I'm wearing flip flops but not if I'm wearing sneakers with socks.

I bought the 7" standup shorts first but did not like the length so tried the 5" and prefer them The shorts become softer with washing and wear and are of obviously durable cotton compared to just about any others of similar style. I now have 5 pairs - 2 7" and 3 5". The rounded slant cut pockets are unique - not too bulky with velcro patches on the 3 rear pockets so they stay shut and don't snag on door handles, latches, etc. Highly recommended.
