Men's Patagonia Torrentshell Jacket

Product Description (Men's Patagonia Torrentshell Jacket)

Tropical rain forests share at least one thing with the Patagonia Ice Cap: wet weather. For trekking and hiking in drenching conditions, our new Torrentshell provides 2.5-layer waterproof/breathable protection that's durable, lightweight and without frills. The jacket stuffs into one of two zippered handwarmer pockets (and has a clip-in loop); the hood fits snugly over a helmet, rolls down, stows away, and has a laminated visor; and the center zipper has exterior and interior storm flaps. With pit zips for added ventilation, a microfleece-lined neck and a drawcord hem.

Features of this item include: Winter, Hiking

This is a great jacket as you would expect from Patagonia. I do have the same problem as the other customer keeping the hood up on a windy day.

Overall I like the jacket and it fits perfectly and is easy to pack in my messenger bag for potentially rainy days. My only issue is that I have trouble with keeping the hood on in windy days. It is not weighted and doesn't extend far enough.

This is the second one I've bought. The first, I bought 12 years ago and it has served me well. I've used it extensively as a lightweight travel jacket, hiking and fishing jacket. It is durable, efficient, and easy to pack. The new model is lighter, has underarm vents, vertical pocket openings, inside pocket and a way to secure the hood, all worthwhile improvements.

Completely waterproof... the fit is amazing, especially for tall people. I'm 6'4" 185 lbs and the large fits like a dream. I tried all comparable shells from TNF, Marmot, EMS, REI, etc. and they were all too short. This one rocks. The green color is great.

I was worried it would be made of nylon taffeta or something. Not the case. Very nice, breathable, light weight waterproof shell. Excellent.
