Spitfire was founded on the principles of Street Design. Taking inspiration from the urban environments we live in, and re-interpreting them to create a new aesthetic. Starting in London in 1999, Spitfire set out to create a high-minded brand that is, above all, accessible. Spitfire put forward looking design in the hands of anyone with the will and vision to want it. Contrary to everything you see around you, Spitfire chose to draw inspiration not from designers, but from customers. The young, urban dwellers who constantly change and re-imagine trends. Taking the best pieces of every style, and combining them to create a new avante garde. The result is a line of sunglasses and accessories that is affordable, constantly evolving and, above all, a reflection of the new, no-rules urban gestalt. Spitfire is currently based in London, Chicago and Cape Town. While the unique environments they live in obviously influence them, Spitfire strives to act as global citizens. Focusing on the common threads of style, innovations and creativity we all share as human beings and using them to create a brand for the people and by the people.
